Here is an excerpt of:

Ansible is the Language of Automation and anything that can be automated ansible can automate them.
Before getting into use-cases i would highly recommend starting out with the Intro to Ansible https://www.ansible.com/resources/webinars-training/introduction-to-ansible
The looking at ansible to automate simple tasks i.e get hostinfo from multiple systems or grab some data.
Ansible can help you patch a system, deploy an app , standardize your system just to name a few . Others in the forums have pointed to various pointers on what use cases ansible is used for as well but i would recommend you look at ansible and its capabilities to determine how it fits what you are trying to achieve and you will find ansible being a good fit.
