Hi Team
Can anyone please advise if automation is feasible for DB2 data migration from AIX to Red hat Linux ? Due to Little and Big Indian compatibility issues , migration of huge databases ( TB) is a potential problem, demanding high implementation time. Also, any reference to DB2 migration documentation that could help us understand the challenges/measures involved is highly appreciated. Thank you in advance
Hi, there is an IDUG Presentation from Dale McInnis (IBM Toronto Lab) with title "Migrating DB2 from AIX to X86 Linux". As you mentioned, it's a big endian to little endian Migration, Backup and Restore doesn't work. There are 3 different approach to do that. DB2Move, DB2 High Performance Unload, or using a Q-Replication. Depenging on which approach, you can automate the whole setup with shell or ansible. AFAIK there is no ready-to-use-solution for that.
