what is a recommended approach to complete EX280 exam, the CLI or web console?

Hi,

I just took EX280 exam and ran out of time, leaving the questions of these 2 topics not answered:

  1. manage storage for application configuration and data
  2. configure network policy

I found it a little challenge to do it in CLI. would be better to do it in web console? it is recommended at all?

also, can anyone suggest a better preperation method on this 2 topics?

really appreciate it.

Steve

@Steve_Zeng You can use either of them : CLI or web console as per your comfort and choice. Personally, I feel more comfortable editing / creating yaml on the CLI but for other tasks web console seems more easy ( depending on the requirement ).

DO280 course and its labs are spot on and recommended learning tool for practising those 2 objectives. I feel the course covers the requirement in details.

Hello Steve,

I took EX280 exam and ran out of time just two days ago.

It was my 2nd  attempt and I thought to have a larger part of topics in "completed"

If you agree can i share with you the topics  that made me fail the exam  ( reached 200/300) ...just for 10 points....sigh!

thanks in advance

Hi,

I recently passed the EX280 exam (OCP 4.14). What I do is memorize the documentation sections where I could find YAML for resources like PV, PVC, NetworkPolicy, etc. NetworkPolicies are just a game of labels. The show-labels option allows you to get them.

@manutavou so its correct that theres no openshift webconsole access in the exam? Shouldn’t they update the exam objective?

Normaly the openshift command 'oc whoami --show-console'   give you the web console url.

@Steve_Zeng I took EX280 and used a mix of CLI and web console. For managing storage and network policy, I mainly used the web console which helped save time. It’s allowed, but being comfortable with CLI and YAML is important overall.

For preparation, I recommend the DO280 course. It has great hands-on labs covering these topics. Practice the labs and you'd be fine.
