MAJOR RELEASE: DO285 Containers, Kubernetes, and Red Hat OpenShift Administration I for OCP 4.2

Introduction

Newly redesigned for OpenShift 4.2, Containers, Kubernetes, and Red Hat OpenShift Administration I (DO285) is the accelerated training for students interested in pursuing the Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration certification. This course combines the hands-on skills covered over six days in Introduction to Containers, Kubernetes and OpenShift (DO180) and OpenShift Administration I (DO280) into a single five day course. To keep pace in this fast moving course, students need a solid foundation of Linux skills as demonstrated by RHCSA or equivalent knowledge. Customers are encouraged to purchase the exam bundle DO286 to enable students to demonstrate proficiency as an OpenShift administrator in a performance based exam.

Containers and Red Hat OpenShift have quickly become the de facto solution for agile development and application deployment and are key to a DevOps organization to support digital transformation.  DO285 will be particularly valuable to firms moving beyond an initial Proof of Concept and into the Prepare and Expand phases of the Container adoption journey that require a resilient and scalable production OpenShift cluster.

Containers, Kubernetes, and Red Hat OpenShift Administration I (DO285) helps students build core knowledge in building and managing Linux containers and Red Hat® OpenShift® Container Platform. This hands-on, lab-based course shows students how to deploy applications to either a local container runtime or an OpenShift cluster and then how to configure and manage OpenShift clusters to allow multiple developers and applications to share the platform securely. These skills are needed for multiple roles, including architects, administrators, and site reliability engineers.

Learning Path

DO285 is an accelerated way for OpenShift Administrators to begin their journey towards the EX280 exam. It replaces DO180 and DO280 in the following learning path:

*From today on any enrolled or purchased DO285 course will be based on OCP 4.2.

Great news, however, I do not see it in my RHLS yet? is my RHLS at fault, or this course is not availble for RHLS yet?

Hi Walid,

You don't see DO285 on RHLS because it is not available for self-paced students. It is only available for ILT and vILT deliveries. DO285 is basically a merge of DO180 do DO280, so you can just take these two from RHLS.

Good to know, thank you, it does make sense as some content will be overlapping for on site deliveries back to back.

We are not able to see the DO280 for V4.x either, when can we expect that in RHLS.

Is that happening for someone else? I ask because when I access RHLS I see both DO280 for v4.x and v3.x. I do not have special permissions on RHLS, I access it as a regular subscriber.

Hi ashalabh,

I checked with a few people and DO280 v4.2 should be visible to all RHLS subscribers. If you still can't see it please open a support ticket so the right people can check your account.
