Ch09S02 - Comprehensive review - container image build taking too long

Hello everyone,

I have problems at the final lab- comprehensive review.

When i build the first container image ( i am in the right directory) with the correct contents using :

[student@workstation beeper-backend]$ podman build -t beeper-api:v1 .

The image doesn't stop downloading packages , i waited for 50-60 minutes, but nothing changes, still downloading

Additionally when i try to build the other container image with

podman build -t beeper-ui:v1 .

The image runs the commands but doesn't exit succesfully with building the image, instead it just keeps builidng

Can you please advice if the issue is on my side or not, and if it is what steps should i take?

@Presian1 Can you confirm if this issue persists in a freshly created lab envrionment as well ?

Also, is this for DO188v4.12 ? or v4.14 ?

Hi @Chetan_Tiwary_ , apologies for not making this clear enough, this is for DO188 v4.14, and yes it persists in a freshly created lab environment. I decided to wait and it took almost 2 hours to download the packages and build the image, if this is normal please let me know.

@Presian1 Thanks for reporting this issue here and no it is not normal. I have reported this to our curriculum development team via an internal critical bug report - they are working on to resolve this asap.

@Presian1 it seems the issue is now resolved. I just tried it in a newly created lab env and it took around 9 mins for the build in step 3.3
