DO280 v4.12 is not available anymore

Jump to solution

Hello all,

I've registered the EX280 v4.12 but the DO280 v4.12 seems not to be available anymore.

Can anyone tell me what are the differences between DO 280 v4.12 and v4.14 content, labs etc ?

Hi there! v4.12 was retired because it had no major content changes from v4.14; v4.10 is available but will be retired in September, and the v4.5 course book (not the lab) is available due to a special request from some clients.

Some additional context:

v4.12 was a major redesign of v4.10. v4.12 introduced new topics that were not previously covered in v4.10, and other topics that were in the v4.10 version were moved to DO180 and DO380. During this same time, DO180 and DO380 went through a major redesign to keep the core admin courses aligned.

v4.14 was a version bump of v4.12 with only necessary changes included, such API version changes in lab scripts and code blocks, and bug fixes. The changes between OCP 4.12 and OCP 4.14 did not impact the topics covered in the course, so no new topics were developed. Rather than keeping two courses with nearly identical course content, v4.12 was retired and v4.14 was kept.

Because of how different the v4.10 is from v4.14/v4.12 and requests from customers, v4.10 was kept in the catalog. It's currently in legacy status and will be retired in September because OCP 4.10 is no longer supported. At that point, only v4.5 and v4.14 will be available (v4.5 again because of the special request; it will not be maintained or updated). The v4.16 update should be out later this year.

Hope this helps!

@enk_kail Since the v4.12 course and respective lab is not there - I cannot tell you about the difference as comparison is not possible. As far as I know the objectives listed here will be the same for v 4.12  as well. You can practice the objectives in the v4.14 labs.

However, You should contact the exam support for official comment in this matter here : https://rhtapps.redhat.com/comments

Please note that "Exam support link" ( https://rhtapps.redhat.com/comments ) is the official channel for raising support case and taking guidance/ help for anything related to exam. All other comments and suggestions are provisional.

Hello

I've noticed the same thing, it seems DO280 v4.12 is no longer available.

It's strange because the old versions (v4.5 and v4.10) are still available.

Thanks a lot Natalie for the detailed explanation. I've now changed my exam version from 4.12 to 4.14.
