Expected completion time for the DO380 comprehensive review lab

Jump to solution

What is the expected completion time for the DO380 comprehensive review lab? I managed to pass all graded items in the "compreview-review1" lab on 1st attempt in 62 minutes without referring to any course notes or solutions, is this a good indicator that I should be ready for EX380 exam or should I study more?

I can't say for certain this means you will do well on the exam, but it is a very good indicator you were able to complete in that amount of time. I haven't been teaching anything for a while, but glancing at the allotted notes, that activity has about 1hr 35 minutes allocated to it. So completing in just over an hour is good. I would still highly encourage going back through all the end of chapter labs and attempting to complete those too (without looking at solutions). See how long that takes you and where you can possibly save time. I would also see what happens if you do the comp review again ... can you get that down to 50 minutes so you have another 15 minutes to use elsewhere?

are the exam objectives. It is a 3 hour exam.

I would look at the objectives and map to the various labs and see how long it takes you to complete them. There are seven (7) chapters of the book, meaning 7 end of chapter labs. I would see if you could complete all 7 within a three (3) hour period or see how long it actually takes. Technically, more time than 3 hours is allocated for the EoC labs, but again, some things on the exam may be combined into the same question or set of instructions.

The key to all of our exams is time management, so finding ways to shave time off and become quicker at completing tasks will be beneficial all the way around.

Thanks for your feedback and encouraging words! I've scheduled the EX380 exam on 2025-12-17, hoping to pass it on 1st attempt, fingers crossed

In the meantime, I've been revisiting the DO180 and DO280 fundamentals and planning to redo the DO380 end-of-chapter labs at least twice.
