Hello all,

Can a dynamic inventory be created using automation controller?

Is creating a job template survey in automation controller the same as creating a survey in Ansible Tower?

Hi Trevor,

Yes, it's the same. Automation Platform is the "new Tower", more powerful, but with all "old" functionalities still avaiable.

One thing to keep in mind is that a big difference with respect to your question ... revolves around the dynamic inventory and what you want to do.

As @Ricardo mentioned, Controller is the "new Tower" so it has the same functionalities and the Survey works the exact same. 

However, in terms of "Dynamic Inventory" we have lost some functionality. AAP2.x+ has largely moved from the older dynamic inventory scripts and instead now uses inventory plugins which can be included or part of collections to be included. The older Ansible Tower allowed the creation of the Dynamic Inventory script source and editing directly in the WebUI but this is no longer possible or supported as part of the Automation Controller.
