I followed the directions given and have triedd using both Rufus and Fedora Media Writer. After I begin writing to the disk, the USB disappears from my list of devices in Windows. I think that is normal. I go over to my laptop, hit F12 to interrupt boot, instruct it to boot from my USB (that only has the RHCSA.iso) and then it boots into a black screen with "grub>" and that is it.
I took the RHCSA some time back, using the same machine, and I had no problems. After going back and forth trying to reformat the USB and reburn the image, I started noticing that my USB was being fragmented- as in instead of getting one USB device when I plugged it in, I would get 3 each asking to be formatted. I figured my USB might be bad so I tried I different one, following the same provided steps in the handout from RedHat. Same thing- grub menu. And then eventually they fragmenting happened to that disk.
Really lost here. Any help would be appreciated.
Just got through speaking with customer service and it looks like that there is an issue with "gaming machines" specifically when it comes to the RHCSA test. I have three different computers and all of them are hardcore built for gaming and streaming. The test I took back in December actually uses a different ISO image- the current one "self decrypts" and apparently that is where the issues stem from. The technician mentioned that sometimes you can just type "exit" when you get the grub menu and it will continue installing. Mine was stuck at that sccreen for about 30 minutes before I gave up.
On a different computer I got hung up at what looks like a Linux boot cycle and it basically says it failed a USB CDROM check and it halted the system.
Did you get a resoltion? I also get a black screen when I boot from the USB. Screen flickers when I press any kick or click the mouse.

Though you can still use the old ISO now, the users are advised to download the current ISO several days before the exam and test it.
It is very likely the ISO you download in the future will already support your computer, apart from other necessary features it might have in order to improve your exam experience.
The termination date of the older ISO is not known yet, we expect it to happen in days or weeks.
