I'm trying to figure out if I should take Exam 294 or 407 next. If you take 407, do you get RHCE? Do you have to take both exams if you want to get RHCE and work towards RHCA as well? seems kind of silly to take very similar exams in order to apply it to different certification paths.
yes you can, you'll earn "Red Hat Certified Specialist in Advanced Automation: Ansible Best Practices" certification, but it will count towards RHCA only if you have valid RHCSA+RHCE (200+294)
407 will be retired until the end of the year , you need 294 + 447 to get RHCE+1 towards RHCA
Ok, I see. Can you skip EX294 and just take 447?

To achieve RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) and work towards RHCA (Red Hat Certified Architect), you must take specific exams. The RHCE exam (EX294) is required for RHCE certification, focusing on automation and Linux system administration. EX407 (Ansible Automation) can count as one of the exams towards RHCA but is not a substitute for EX294.
If your goal is both RHCE and RHCA, start with EX294 for RHCE and then select additional exams like EX407 for RHCA. Always plan based on your certification path.
