Going for OpenShift Certification

Jump to solution

Hello All

In last 4 months i gave exam for

RHCSA , Redhat Certified Specialist for HA and RHCE EX294 and fortunately i passed all after spending lot of time and sleepless nights. Now after taking 1 week rest now im planning to go for Redhat OpenShift Training and Exam but i found there is no EX180 and only Training is available.

Which one should i go for first DO188 or DO188 training. Im thinking to do training in one these then instead of EX188 or PE180 i will go for DO280 and its exam

Any Suggestions please

Hello @UmairMustafa !
Thanks for reaching out !

Yes, you are right ! EX180 is retired now.

Recommended skill path is :

Openshift Development path : DO188 ( EX188)  --> DO280 ( EX280 optional)  --> DO288 (EX288)

OpenShift Administration Path : DO180 ( PE180 ) -->DO280 ( EX280 ) --> DO380 ( EX380 )

You can directly take any exam if you have the necessary experience or skill set as mentioned in the respective exam link.

Eg. Refer EX280 certification exam here : https://www.redhat.com/en/services/training/red-hat-certified-openshift-administrator-exam

It actually depends upon one's choice and planned skill paths as to which course or certification one wants to pursue. My recommendation for EX280 certification  is DO180 + DO280  training.

Refer OpenShift certification Path here : https://www.redhat.com/en/resources/openshift-skill-paths-brief

Let me know if you have any other query regarding this. You can also reach out to training@redhat.com for any help in this matter.

@dzmoon you wont get any badge / certificate for PE exams as they are not certificate exams , they are a preliminary exam to let you test your preparation for actual cert exams and  feel how the real cert exam would be.

Earlier EX180 was a real cert exam hence you got a cert / badge but that exam is now retired. Now we have a PE180 exam which as I said earlier is not a cert exam.

Refer : https://www.redhat.com/en/services/training-and-certification/preliminary-exams/faqs

@dzmoon

You can go for EX188V4K [Redhat Certified Specialist in Containers] certification.
