How to reply to a direct message, if the platform tells you are breaking the quota?

A few months ago you sent me a message, sorry I did reply sooner.
Now I get a message that I am not allowed to answer for I have reached my limit of personal messages.

What to do now?

Hi Jan,

Perhaps something is broken within the "personal messaging system". Some time ago I replied to a personal message from Deanna, but never received any response. Possibly Deanna did not see my message, or - there is indeed something not configured correctly in the communication data base.
