Hi All,
I completed my RHCSA certification in February 2022 and now plan to pursue the RHCE certification.
My RHCSA certification is set to expire on February 18, 2025.
Can I attempt the RHCE certification after my RHCSA certification has expired? Will I still receive the RHCE badge, or do I need to retake the RHCSA exam to achieve the RHCE certification?
Best regards,
Nimesha
Nimesha,
Thank you for your question.
You can take the EX294 exam, which is required for the RHCE certification, regardless of the validity of your RHCSA certification.
However, to officially receive the RHCE certification after passing EX294, you must have a valid RHCSA certification.
If you pass EX294 after February 18, 2025, you will need to re-obtain the RHCSA certification. Once you do so, both RHCSA and RHCE will be certified simultaneously.
In summary, there are two possible paths to obtaining the RHCE certification:
I hope this information helps you.
Best regards,
Hi Yamato Sakai,
Thank you for your valuable feedback.
If I take the RHCE exam (EX294) after February 18, 2025, when my RHCSA certification has already expired, what will the status of my certification be? For example, will I be considered as having passed the RHCE exam but with the RHCSA certification pending?
I appreciate your clarification on this matter.
Best regards,
Nimesha
@NimeshaKumara Unless you have an active current RHCSA , you wont be having RHCE certification or you wont be getting any RHCE cert even if you pass the examination.
So, you must have an active RHCSA in order to get the RHCE cert or be called a RHCE certified professional.
In a nutshell - for your question - if your RHCSA is expired and you directly take RHCE and pass it - you wont be getting the cert and hence you cannot be verified as RHCE certified professional.
I would strongly recommend you to take RHCE only if you have an active RHCSA otherwise I dont think it is useful.
