Installation of Ansible Automation Platform - FQDN

I found that I cannot install AAP using IP address, and it must require FQDN address. It is true?

Correct. You need to use proper FQDNs for proper SSL certificate generation as well as ensuring they are all lowercase and not use underscores ("_") as a part of the hostname. Underscores are not a part of proper FQDNs as per the RFC.

 

If you don't have a working DNS setup in your environment (bad, baaad idea) you can still populate the /etc/hosts file in all relevant controllers, database and automation hub hosts.
