Like most of you out there I learn by doing. I'll like to learn how to use and administer Sat 6. I plan on taking the course with my learning subscription (once I get my subscription renewed), but would like to have something at home that I can play with.
As I read about Sat 6, it sounds like it is based on Foreman but has several other components...
|The Foreman||Provision and Life Cycle Management of physical and virtual systems|
|Katello||Foreman Plug-in for Subscription and Repository Management|
|Candlepin||Service in Katello to handle subscription management|
|Pulp||Service in Katello to handle repository and content management|
|Hammer||CLI tool providing command line and shell equivalents of most WEB UI functions|
|REST API||RESTful API service for System Administrators and Developers to write custom scripts and third party interface applications|
|Apache Tomcat||Embedded Tomcat server than must be interfaced via specified tools|
|Puppet||A Puppet Master server installed as part of a Red Hat Satellite 6 Master Server or Capsule server|
|Hiera||A Key-Value database that is part of Puppet and helps keep site specific data out of manifests|
To gain some experience (i.e. doing), what should I download to give me the closest feel?
Just a brief read over the site that does look like it will get me going in the right direction. Thank you!
I just got my rhls, and am planning for satellite certification but I can't get the DO405 or the RH403 to start please need some help here
