Question: Which version control system do you use?

We are working an exciting new course and want to know which version control system do you use - and why. Possible answers could be Git, Mercurial, Subversion, Perforce, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Other, I don't user version control, etc.

Thanks!

I love git for it's flexibility and (relatively) easy branching, which maps really well to continuous delivery.

Hi Deanna,

I use git but I would love to learn more about it. I'm really curious about that new course !

I only use Git these days, but in the past I have used Bazaar, which was really interesting with its python API and hooks, but the website hasn't been updated in a few years and I'm guessing the project has gone stale.

Git now, after years of working with SVN, which started to show its limits with our workflow and the need to work in safer and more robust ways between team members.

That being said, I'm always open to learn the philosophy behind other VCSs

I have found Git to be much more conducive to team collaboration than alternatives.

Originally I used CVS (pre Red Hat), then SVN, and now Git. Git is far and away the easiest and most flexible imo.
