Let's say I am not ready to take my exam on the day it is scheduled for. How far in advance must I cancel/reschedule?

You should be able to cancel/reschedule the exam uptill 24 hours before the actual start time of the exam. It will not allow you to cancel or reschedule the exam if the actual start time of exam is less than 24 hours away.
