We will be hosting a monthly challenge where community members who engage and contribute have the chance to win unique badges in the Red Hat Learning Community!
May Challenge: We hope you have set some goals for yourself to accomplish in 2023. Why don't you share them with this community and encourage other too? (It can be technical, professional or even personal goals!)
Become RHCE.
Successfully launch new consulting venture. Find the right partners to bring to life several ideas I have that will rely on Redhat products!
My goals are less certification focused, but will absolutely contribute to certification efforts as I pursue them:
1. Complete the automation of specific tasks my team performs during RHOSP-16.2 overcloud deployments. The overall deployment is difficult to completely automate, when the foundation networks/systems have disparity, but we want to automate as much of the routine work as possible!
2. Deploy an Ansible Automation Platform 2 solution and begin learning how to integrate the automation and workflow capabilities into our daily endeavors.
3. Increase my understanding and knowledge of Container Management... not necessarily creating container images for solutions, but managing the infrastructure, workflows, and pipelines around Images that the developers use every day.
For that last point, I find that a LOT of container guides and doco fail to focus on the requirements and structure of image storage, delivery, and management ... except as used by a developer within their individual dev space. Understanding registries, the protocols & standards (official and proprietary), and best practices for managing containers at the enterprise/organization level are often overlooked.
My learning goals for 2023:
- OpenShift and Kubernetes: extend my knowledge and refresh certificates
- automation: Ansible Automation Platform certification, learn Terraform
- cloud: (re)certify in at least 2 major public cloud providers, especially security and DevOps-wise
- AI: learn OpenAI and Cloud AI tools
- Python: refresh basic Python skills, also with the above AI learning in mind
- upgrade my current RHCA level
May sound too ambitious for one year, but for now I feel I am still more or less "on track".
