Road to RHCA: Completed

It has been a lot of hard work, but totally worth it. It took me 6 months with some breaks in between.

I used RHLS as my main study resource with 180 hours of lab time utilised. Exams taken:

Clustering (EX436)
Puppet (EX405)
Ansible (EX407)
Satellite (EX403)
Security (EX415)

I found Puppet to be the hardest exam of them all. Ansible was a new thing to me, but all other topics are more or less what I do at work.

[EDIT: May 2020]

I've also passed OpenShift (EX280) and Hybrid Cloud (EX220).

Awesome!  Spectacular!  This is a special accomplishment.

To have completed this journey in a 6-month period makes
it that much more incredible.

Congratulations!

Thanks, but I know a guy who's done 5 exams in a month!

What?  Five in one month?  Man, the only way I could
even think about doing this would be because I've got
experience, and I'm just wanting to validate it with the
exam.  Five in one month.  Ouch!!!

Anyway, thanks again for sharing your achievement.

Thanks! Agreed, it's one thing to pass the exams, but it's a different thing to maintain skills and knowledge.

I've passed a couple of more exams since my last update, OpenShift included. It's a beast I'll give you that! We've started breaking our monolith apps in to micro-services, therefore my main focus has been on Kubernetes lately.

I'm trying to learn as much as I can about Kubernetes and OpenShift. We've started breaking our monolith apps in to micro-services, and we need to design, plan and deploy the insfrastructure for that. Work will keep me busy for a while. Also, because of the lockdown, it's unlikely that I'll be sitting any exams this year.

Congratulations, a great achievement.

To be an RHCA, I want to learn if the sorting of having RHCE and the other 5 RHCS certifications is important or not. For instance, is it a must to have the RHCE first and then the others or is it possible to have RHCE after any or all of having the RHCS certificates?
