Tips for EX188

Hi!

I would like to try the EX188 as first redhat exam.

Since is my first exam what should I expect? Would I have the possibilitiy to use text editor (for example to change Containerfiles)? How would my environment looks like (I only know that I have no internet access). Can you also tell me how many exercices are in the exam? Was the time enough for you?

So we can't discuss exam number of questions or any details that would tarnish the integrity of the exam. You will also be signing an NDA and agreement not to discuss the exam before you are even allowed to take it. I can answer some general questions for you though ...

I highly recommend watching the above video links on what to expect and what the exam looks like. As a first-time exam taker, knowing the layout of the exam and what to expect should give you a leg up. There should be plenty of time to complete the exam objectives and check your work providing you don't have to look up every little thing in the docs/man pages. One of the largest issues with the exam (next to knowing how to complete objectives) is effective time management. I would suggest doing the objectives that you 100% know how to do and know the easy things out first. Don't be afraid to "REVISIT" items you would need to look up or that don't quite work right. It is better to move on and come back rather than wasting valuable time.

You will have access to multiple Linux systems and the ability to install various items that are included as part of RHEL. So there will definitely be text editors available and you could even install them. 

Lastly, while not 100% an answer to the number of questions on the exam, you should review the objectives carefully. This is what you will be tested on and some objectives might be covered across multiple exam questions and some exam questions can hit multiple objectives.
