how to take file auto backup in Linux

Hello All,

 

explaning scenario :

i have some config files under /opt .

In /opt file system confA ,confB,confC ....confZ these are the files .

if updated value of the file via console or tool then file value or configuration updated then backend that file be  updated  (time stamp & size) , file is  running on Linux OS .

that files if update (changes time stamp and file size) in this scenarion ( auto check if any file available with latest time stamp then that file should need to take backup )

any command is there for above scenarion set in crontab entry to execute for backup files .

 

i hope explained query .

could you plese share the command .
