pre-boot chat support for remote exams

Hello team,

fyi if it can help somebody

i did face an issue when prepairing for an exam renewal this morning : booting rhrexboot-2023-06.iso on my dell precision 3530 ended in

20240820_crash.jpg

same with several media. the laptop works correctly with rhel9.4. after some tests, it appeared my laptop booted by default in BIOS mode on the USB key, and when forcing UEFI boot the error disappeared - but it took some time figuring this (booting from several media, on several computers).

seems a chat support for these type of issues was planned [

confirmation emails :

- "Remote Exam Chat Support" -> https://www.redhat.com/en/services/certification/exam-preparation#:~:text=our%20exam%20offerings-,Re...

- "If the compatibility test is unsuccessful and your exam is in the next 24 hours:

   ...  Contact our team on chat and describe the issues you are experiencing

"Get ready for your Red Hat remote exam_ eBook outline V5_20240630.pdf" manual on p#1

    Read the FAQ or chat with our support team
    if you have questions during exam
    preparation.

    Contact support -> https://www.redhat.com/en/services/certification/remote-exams

    anyway, on p#24 is stated " 3. Review boot order selection screen. An example of a typical Apple Mac boot screen is as follows. Select any of the EFI boot icons " and i didn't read it because i don't have a mac my mistake.

]

but Ricardo confirmed there is no such thing as a reachable chat (as long as the exam environment doesn't boot i suppose), and the quickest place to get helped is <<here>>. No need for me for this time, but it should probably be worth telling this for future candidates met in classrooms.

regards to all

Yes, you should always boot in UEFI mode. Legacy partition is still there, but it is less reliable. Also make sure the Secure Boot is disabled
