Disable root login via SSH

Jump to solution

I am doing some traing for my RHCSA through the Red Hat Online Labs.  There is a step where it asks you to disable root login via SSH on the server which, to my knowledge, is done by editing "/etc/ssh/sshd_config" and changing "PermitRootLogin yes" to "PermitRootLogin no" then restarting the sshd service.
When I run the lab grade script I keep getting this step wrong, even though I am unable to login as root via SSH from the desktop vm.

Has anyone else had this issue? Or am I missing a step?

Please, check that no additional space or other additional codes in directive line. That is not controlled by grade script.
