EX200 exam

I am taking rhcsa exam from home. I am not sure if I can use my headphone with inbuilt microphone.

Any ideas? If not what are alternatives I can use.

Thank you in advance.

@ravbahra I think you got your reply in another thread by @Keerthy :

 https://learn.redhat.com/t5/General/Questions-about-getting-ready-for-your-Red-Hat-remote-exam/m-p/3...

I hope you got the info.

"You are allowed to use a wired USB headset with an inbuilt mic, however, the headset needs to be kept on the desk throughout the exam. The proctor will communicate via chat and make sure to pass the mic test successfully in the Compatibility check as the proctor will need to listen/monitor your surroundings.

NOTE : Keep the proctor informed that you have connected a wired USB headset during Onboaridng"

The official exam ebook does not state anything about using a USB microphone or headset.

But in the other, big exam prep thread people are saying that you can use a USB mic.

Hi Tess, can me ask more?

I'm confused because there will be cases where candidates use desktop computers, not laptops, so how do they connect to the exam?

@huyvl3-fptcloud You can use a desktop - please go through the document to know more about getting ready to prepare for your remote exam : https://learn.redhat.com/t5/Certification-Resources/Getting-Ready-for-your-Red-Hat-Remote-Exam/ba-p/...

For any issue or help : please reach out to exam support team here : https://www.redhat.com/rhtapps/services/comments/

Hello Huy,

Thank you for contacting Remote exam support team. For the exam speakers are not mandatory but microphones are. It is recommended to keep the input device volume to 70-80%. Some external cameras have built in microphone you can try selecting the external camera mic and try testing the same. If you still face the issue then, you can connect a wired earphone or headphone and run the compatibility test. But during the test, you are not allowed to wear them. You should place it in-front of the laptop/desktop.
