Good day to you Travis,
Thank you so much for that advise too!
Two months ago I received an email from Red Hat, stating my one year will expire. then via support it was extended for an additional year.
By the way what is the difference between
dnf update
and yum update?
However, I clicked the link you have furnished and I do have access. https://developers.redhat.com/
Having said that I shall either email the customer support in Germany in a view to activate, "subscription manager register "
Kind Regards,
Denzil
@Denzil -
So the /dev/sda1 is my fault. It doesn't have a filesystem on it. That is a special FDISK partition that enables "extended" partitions, so sda1 is a dummy partition which allows you to have the additional extended partions above the limit of 4.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/2557390/how-many-partitions-can-i-normally-creat... (Nice Microsoft way of explaining MBR partitioning)
So ext2/3/4 are all older filesystems and RHEL switched to xfs as a default. The swap is a special filesystem for a SWAP partition in which RAM is swapped out to disk. This could be for any of the Linux installations and would not contain actual good data.
So there are technically 3 courses. I can't really provide prices, but the RHCSA RH124/134 courses are the System Admin 1 and System Admin 2 and the troubleshooting course is RH342 Red Hat Enterprise Linux Troubleshooting. At three courses your cheapest method is generally an RHLS subscription and that would give you access to our entire course catalog.
Good day to you Travis,
My apologies for a late response, as I am a bit unwell. But this is inspiring me!
My sincere thanks and appreciation for your patience and your step by step explanations.
Do not worry about mistakes. It did help me to investigate and learn! Dr. Jonas Salk who invented polio said when asked why he failed 199 times. Dr. Jonas Salk's response was "never failed" and instead discovered 200 ways"
I shall read the link you have sent me, and in the event I find ita bit had to understand, I may consult you.
By the way, I beleive, in relation to paragrah one and two, the two books you have recomended would have a chapter or similar?
Thank you for the course details. I do have a subcription, which I took during these interaction with you.
Kind Reards,
Denzil
