Hello,
I thought that the RHCE was only avalible for RHEL 8, however when booking I noticed that its possible to book exam for RHEL 9.
My concern is around the changes that have been made to how vdo works in i RHEL 9.
It's not possble to provision a VDO partion using the traditional method since it is now apart of the lvm suite of tools. There is a linux storage role but personally I don't feel comfortable using this at the moment.
What is specifically concerning is that the VDO module does not function as intended.
I suppose if we must use Virtual Disk Optimizer will be something we find out during the exam. I see that ansible system-roles are an official part of the RHEL management process: https://access.redhat.com/articles/3050101
Given the following exam objective:
I can guess there's a high probability this would be the method required.
In RHEL 8 it was possible to use the ansible module to configure this through a single task. In RHEL 9 we have to make use of the official linux storage system-role.
@th31nitiate RHCE is available in RHEL 9 since many years now. Also RHCE which is EX294 exam is based on Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform 2.2
Please refer the RHCE exam objectives for RHEL 9 based exam here : https://www.redhat.com/en/services/training/ex294-red-hat-certified-engineer-rhce-exam-red-hat-enter...
