RHCSA / RHCE Exams

Has there been any change in what minor release version is being used on the exams?  i.e., if RHEL is currently at 7.5, is 7.0 still being used on the exams or have they perhaps gone up to 7.2 or something?

I know there are not any MAJOR differences between the minor versions, but a difference is still a difference nonetheless.

That's a great question.  We absolutely need some clarity on which versions of RHEL each exam covers.  I was shocked to find that the EX413 exam (as of April 2018) still covered RHEL6.  Sadly, that bit of information isn't (or wasn't at the time) listed on the exam page.

Hi Americanada and RedHatNation,

the one and only way to communicate and get proper information about this topic is this link:

https://www.redhat.com/rhtapps/services/comments/

That's the point of contact with the certification and exams team. Even for us instructors

You'll always find it if you search "red hat comments" in google.

There you can also notify them about wrong information on the red hat website. And they will fix it.

Or if you are in doubt about something in an exam you are going to take. If they can, they will tell you.

Thank you

Rodolfo

A quick plug for the Red Hat Learning Team:

The folks who respond to questions have been 100% helpful in the past.  Every single time I've chatted with them, they have been helpful, on-point, and addressed concerns quickly and without a fuss.

I just wish we had more of them!

Hey Rodolfo,

Which classes do you teach?  Just out of curiousity...

EDIT:  Added question for Rodolfo

Just to follow-up, it seems Red Hat has added version numbers to some of the exam guides!  SCORE!  Kudos to Red Hat!

Red Hat have recently updated their RHCE exam page where it now clearly states that the RHEL version used in the exam is 7.0:
