Hi,

I have downloaded this ova file from imaga builder and when booting the server up in VMware I get prompted for login. How do I get the root password for this?

1. where are trying to setup this?

2. have you ever configured this ? - since during first boot up itself you configure root pswd etc?

Well the OS is already installed in this ova file, and on first boot it just went to the login prompt. But I think I understand now that I need to use cloud-init.iso to provision users upon boot.

Generally for ‘cloud-like’ builds, the root account is not used for logging in. I’d suggest adding a user and having them in the %wheel group so they can sudo as needed.
