Red Hat Linux Interview Series 26

Q.) Which monitoring tool have you used amongst the popular ones like Nagios, Zabbix, Elastic Search, Prometheus, grafana, cacti, Sitescope etc ? How is that tool configured and how does it gather data from your servers to show on the monitoring tool ?

Q.) On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your skills in Linux administration ?

( The question is tricky and prepare your answer carefully. Remember to adjust the rating based on your actual level of expertise. Be honest but confident, and highlight your specific areas of strength. You can also mention any certifications or relevant projects that demonstrate your Linux administration skills )

Q.) What is the difference between 𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘀 and 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘀 ?

Bonus Q.) As a site reliability engineer responsible for maintaining a large e-commerce platform, do you need both ? Why and why not ?

I'll be posting a series of Linux-related questions covering various skill levels. Feel free to share your insights and expertise. Your contributions will benefit learners at all stages, from those in current roles to those preparing for Linux interviews.

Answer:  Yes!

Logs record a problem.
- that's not the purpose or function metrics

Metrics monitor performance.
- that's not the purpose or function of logs

Logs and Metrics compliment each other, to assist with the administration of
Linux systems, in times of sluggish performance, or situations where something
is no longer functioning!

@Trevor my bad, let me rephrase the question a bit. My intent was to ask about Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic search, Nagios Core, Zabbix, Cacti etc.
