I'm looking to start studying the RH342 and noticed it is based on RHEL 8.4. Is a refresh planned in the next few months to bring it up to RHEL 9 or 10?
Thanks.
Currently, this course is as-is and we are not working on a refresh yet. Work is being done on the RH442 Performance Tuning course to bring it up to RHEL10, so that will be completed before the RH342 gets addressed.

Thanks for the information. I'm currently looking at doing RH342, so will hold off until the update!
Is there anywhere online where candidates can see what courses are being updated or due to be updated, such as you mentioned above? This would be useful in planning my learning path!
Thanks

Unfortunately, I'm not aware of anything public although that isn't a bad idea. We have several people within Red Hat that also wonder when Class X will be re-released and updated on version Y. I happen to know some of the things we are currently working on because I work with the team developing the items, but I know of no site that or document that is external facing with the plans as though are often driven by course age, success/demand for the course, substantial changes to content, and various other factors. Some of the course updates were really just refreshes to be on newer versions with very few content changes, so it all becomes a game of priority when we have limited resources (people) to release and update classes as to which ones have dedicated focus.

Thank you for your detailed reply! Most helpful.
You're welcome and if it helps you and others for planning, I was in a meeting earlier with the manager of the teams responsible for the Linux and Platform course updates. At this time, there are several courses slated ahead of the RH342 for refresh, so the soonest development might start is 2026Q4 (so end of this year), but there aren't any formal plans yet for the update of this course and other courses might take priority.
If you are really wanting troubleshooting, the existing RH342 course is great if you haven't completed it yet. I wouldn't let the version of RHEL stop you as some of the skills you learn are cross-versions of Linux. I'm sure there will be some "new" concepts and tools around for troubleshooting for RHEL10 and possibly some of the existing topics to be slightly upgraded, but I wanted to let you know it wouldn't be a quick update that you can wait several weeks for and expect us to have new content.
Thanks for this extra information, it has helped me in making the decision to go ahead an studying the RH342.
You're welcome
