Hi all, has someone experienced remote exam using a Mac? Can you share difficulties you encounter. All my connection tests were OK. Here are some observations using a Macbook Pro later 2013.
- I needed a ethernet cable, an external mouse/trackpad, 1 usb hub for webcam and mouse.
Mac with M1 and M2 CPUs are not supported. Even if you manege to boot, you will have issues with integrated devices, with the chipset.
@PetrCihlar I have a mac with M1 chip and I was wondering if anything has changed since your last post?
Hi Emeka,
Not a lot of change, unfortunately. Support of M1/M2 has not reached upstream Linux kernel, not to mention general-usage distributions like Fedora. There is work being done to support M1/M2 chips in distributions like Asahi Linux but I wouldn't be surprised if it takes a few more years to reach to Fedora (if ever).
Cheers
Fran
