Hi

I want to become a RHCA (currently I am RHCE) and I am wondering which certifications to pass/choose for my RHCA path (following difficulty or not but mainly on usefulness)   ?

Currently I am system admin working mainly on linux(vm and physical hosts , cloud and on prem)/veritas cluster/ansible/puppet

It mainly depends on your experience on the product you are preparing the exam for.

Generally speaking, I'd say yes, unless you master that specific product.

From my experience, specialist exams usually are a little bit more difficult than RHCSA or RHCE.

I would not risk to wasting an exam attempt, imho. It doesn't worth.

If you are planning all these exams in whole year, it could be a good idea to purchase the Standard RHLS, which has 5 exams included and 5 retake if you don't pass a single exam.

It costs more but it is a long-term investment

Best Regards

@cq032  as mentioned by @rhnoname , if you are planning for RHCA wherein you have to clear 5 exams apart from RHCE - it is definitely a worth investment because you will get access to many courses, with 5 individual exams and 5 single retakes in case you fail the first attempt. Plus you will also get sufficient lab hours and lab support in addition to the courses and exams access.

Another benefit available is an "Expert Chat" option which comes with standard subscription wherein you can raise a live chat with our experts for your course doubts and any help associated with Red Hat Learning.

Hi,

Go for the 5 easiest ones , just to achieve the RHCA quickly:

EX318 - Red Hat Certified Specialist in Virtualization exam
EX403 - Red Hat Certified Specialist in Deployment and Systems Management exam
EX436 - Red Hat Certified Specialist in High Availability Clustering exam
EX188 - Red Hat Certified Specialist in Containers exam
EX240 - Red Hat Certified Specialist in API Management exam

And then go for more chalenging ones to increase your RHCA level (each additional specialist exam will increase your level (5 exams are for RHCA level I).

Regards,

Nir.

I wish they had a two year option. Clearing five exams in one year is a stretch, at least for me. I would gladly pay for that option.

AFAIK, the RHLS is a yearly subscription. I don't think it is possible.

Perhaps, you can raise a request to the RH support.
