RH124 - ch03s11 files-review instructs you to create several files and move or copy them around.
After following this the lab grade will fail you on the files in the season2 directory.
This is because the grading is only checking for episodes 1-5, not episode 6.
Nowhere in the course are you advised to delete episode 6, and you are specifically told to create 6 episodes.
Can this be looked into?
edit: using Version 9.3
@Chris_Go Can I see your lab grading screenshot ?
Hey i was running into the same issue, but mostly because i didn't read the lab guide carefully enough...
"Change your working directory to ~/Videos/season2, and then copy the first episode of the season to the vacation directory."
so my first episode was missing in the season2 folder because I've moved it. when I recreated it the script went through and gave me a pass on the season 2 folder check.
but yeah the check is kinda weird, because the error message is a bit misleading:
so i keep faliling this lab, and these are the two steps that it fails me on, has anyone found out why this is happing?
@aholland-00556 Can you please provide the screenshot of your seasons directory
ls -R Videos/season1
ls -R Videos/season2
I have the impression the script is intentionally not precise in guiding the student to "the problem". We are expected to explore what we did incorreclty in that step. Deductive detection work makes us learn better.
In response to the overall thread, I did just complete the exercise, as described in the text, and it performs as expected. My experience says this is, as others have alluded, because one or more of the instructions was not followed precisely, leading to a file being where it oughtn't be, or not where it ought.
My students get frustrated with this, too, but it's part of learning, to discover & fix mistakes.
@Andrew Glad that you figured it out and that it is not a blocker for you !
Regarding the feedback around grading script not giving enough hints to identify the issue - I will forward this to the respective team to ponder over it for future course designs.
