Hello,
In the LAB RHVM has one annoying bug: it has trouble opening VM tab if more VMs with the same name exist.
I go to Compute -> Virtual Machines, select row with rhel-vm1 (devel/clusterone) and VM rhel-vm1 the other rhel-vm1 in production cluster gets selected. It just doesn't want to select the 2nd one with the same name whatever I do. Cleaning up cookies/reopening browser doesn't help.
What adds salt to this injury is the missing information in General tab of VM. Once I'm in the VM view: Compute->Virtual Machines -> rhel-vm1 general tab doesn't provide any information about location to which this VM belongs to; e.g. how do I know what cluster this opened VM belongs to ? It would really help to see this, including what host it's assigned to.
Hello @martindxc !
This bug regarding the VMs with same name - was fixed in v4.4 release in which machine's guid is being used to fetch the details instead of VM names. This course is based on v4.3.
Regarding your 2nd query : Yes the general tab ( after clicking on a particular VM ) does not give the host, cluster or DC details - those can be checked from Compute --> Virtual Machine page :
Glad to see that bug patched, thanks for the info.
True, one can check it this way. But not having information on general tab really feels like important information is missing. Not sure why it was opted not to show (many other less relevant information is displayed there). Instantly getting information about the VM and its location is one of the top important info to have about VM.
But that's just one man's feedback.
Agree that can be handy , I guess something like what we have in Red Hat satellite tool - organization and location info in the top - can be applied to show the DC and cluster in the top - Let me check if I can send your feedback to the product engineering/support team.
