Should I wait for course update?

Jump to solution

Should I attend the exam for EX358 or should I wait for the RHEL 9.4 Update? Is it too big of a difference?

@samatar_farah -

So the question is when are you planning on taking the exam (if you are taking the exam). The RHEL 9.4 exam won't be released/updated until the RHEL 9.4 version of the RH358 course is released. As @Chetan_Tiwary_ stated, the change in the course is less of content but instead is more of a "version" bump for the OS.

However, while the concepts are the same, there are several differences as the updated version of the course is AAP-focused rather than using the "ansible-core" or what was Ansible Engine in the older version of the course. Largely, the playbooks and authoring of the automation tasks will be mostly the same, however, there are newer Ansible modules, collections, and roles that can be used making automating the tasks easier. Additionally, since it is AAP-focused, you will be using the ansible-navigator command to run the playbooks rather than ansible-playbook command.

So you will be exposed (maybe for the first time) to Ansible execution environments. The lab environment and content is mostly the same and only has a new VM in there for the private automation hub.

Hope this helps.

that will the new stuff in RHEL 9.4, and see what you think!!!

@samatar_farah It depends upon your choice. As far as the course is considered, there is no major change that I can see in the v9.4 of the course ( apart from the OS v upgrade ).
