How to Enable SCA

How I can enable SCA for an organization in RH Satellite 6.6, I can't see any any such option in the Organization Primary tab.

SCA can only be enabled or disabled globally on a Satellite server, not at an organization level. The configuration is done when importing the subscription manifest (Content > Subscription > Manage manifest).

That's actually not quite correct. The Subscription Manifest does control SCA on the satellite, but technically, SCA can be done at the organization-level based on the manifest. As a matter of fact, the new RH403v6.11 course does just that. We have multiple organizations as part of the Satellite and we show the difference between the SCA subscription manifest and the actual regular manifest that doesn't have SCA enabled. The Manifest 100% controls whether or not SCA is enabled for a Satellite organization and becasue there can be multiple organizations on a Satellite, each manifest must have SCA enabled. Currently, the default behavior for new manifests and creation is set to have SCA enabled. SCA and manifests must be created from the Red Hat site by an Organization Administrator (ORG Admin).

The larger issue for @Razi is that Satellite 6.6 doesn't support SCA (but kinda does as at that time, the manifest created was experimental and known as a Golden Ticket) and worked for Satellite 6.5 and above. I've posted a lot of links below that will answer the question. So back when Satellite 6.5 and Satellite 6.6 were the up-to-date versions it wasn't really called SCA. The good thing is, Satellite 6.5 and beyond can understand the new SCA manifests and consume them for use. It is still advised to update to a more recent version of Satellite that is still being supported.

This also requires subscription-manager to be on a more updated version. I also believe that Satellite 6.6 is technically out of support and is EOL as of 2021.

According to the documentation, Satellite 6.9 is the prerequisite for using SCA.

• The organization administrator (org admin) role for the organization
• Red Hat Satellite 6.9 or later (versions that are under full support)

@Travis Thanks for the corrections. I took the course for v6.6, and at work we have a v6.12 Satellite with a single organization. I definitely have to take the v6.11 course sometime.

Yeah, a lot of places just have single organizations, but my last role when I was a Red Hat architect for a customer we had just over 30 Red Hat Satellite organizations. So managing and supporting the different groups and organizations (especially when it came time to renew manifests) became a challenge.

Starting with Satellite 6.9/6.10 a lot of nicer and new features were added. The newer RH403v6.11 course makes use of Ansible a lot more as well as using satellite for image building.
