Guided exercise for 124 and 134

Hi,

I am just curious and like to know if anyone here requires students to complete all the guided exercises for 124 and 134.  If you required them to work on the guided exercise, how do you know whether they have completed the guided exercises or not?  Because there is no grading script for the guided exercise, I am struggling with how to check their progress.

Hi Tony,

After every 3-4 chapters I create a mock assessment. I ask the students to do pretty much what they have been doing in the guided exercises, but without the answers (command line syntax).

I don't think the students themselves realise how little they are actually taking in by just copying the answers over. Until you remove the answers, the brain is not really engaged.
