In RHEL 8, RH124, Chapter 7, Section 7, I believe this wording needs to be corrected:
The issue here is that the "group ID" is not being set. "Group ID," if continuing with the verbiage used throughout RH124 (up to this point), refers to the group number as found in /etc/group
In a previous step (5.), the group ownership of the /tmp/shared directory was already set to operators.
In this case, the setgid (sgid) bit is being turned on to allow for group inheritance.
