Hello all ,
This is my first training session with Red Hat Academy at my university, I wanted to ask where to get RHEL version for training purposes under RHA ? I am not sure if I can use the evaluation version of RHEL for labs and training purposes.
Any suggestions would be helpful,
Thank you,
Regards,
Ahmed
Thank you guys, I really appreciate your responces.
I have reached to RHA, and there are images that can be used for academic purposes, Lauren pointed me to the right images to use . Thanks Lauren :).
@williamwlk: you are correct, RHEL 7.X is the correct version, Thank you for your clarification.
@JG_Kootstra: Yes, I was a bit confused as well at the begining. I thought this community was only for the Academic program, but I can see that it is much bigger. Which is nice actually.
@Ahmed_Sammoud go to developer.redhat.com click the "Join Red Hat Developer" and request a subscription and then you can download the RHEL server DVD isos from access.redhat.com form the download page.
Hi Ahmed,
Check out the developer program website http://developers.redhat.com or ask your department if the University has a Red Hat Academy agreement.

Jan Gerrit
Thank you JG_Kootstra ,
We do have an agreement with RHA, I do not know where to get the correct RHEL from, RH website only gives me access to the evaluation version, "My account is linked to the RHA"
Hi Ahmed,
It is a bit confusing, RHA as the learning community is not the same as the program for Academic usage of Red Hat subscriptions. I do not why both have been given the same name by Red Hat.
If you want to use RHEL at home for development training then the developer program can help you out.

Jan Gerrit
I feel a bit confused here too.
The RHEL Version we should be talking about today (for traiing and lab, etc) is 7.X (unless you have a very clear production reason).
RHA or not, apart from paying, if you need a subscription support (for updates and support), you need to go for an evaluation subscription or a developer subscription as @JG_Kootstra has pointed out unless you have an additional "RH Subscriptions for Academic usage". And you might have some limitations around them too.
In gneral, for lab and training purposes, whatever you could get your hands on (RHEL7.X) is GOOD.
My 2¢ :)
Cheers.
Will

@Ahmed_Sammoud it is for all trainees.
@JG_KootstraFrom what I understood, these images can be provided to you as part of the Red Hat Academy (RHA) partnership. So if you have RHA, then you should be able to get access to it from gilmore site . I am not sure if it can be available to all trainees, we can always ask...
@Ahmed_Sammoud it might be great for other trainees. Personally I do not need them, for I work for a Red Hat Advanced Partner. I have other ways to get DVD isos.
@JG_KootstraI agree, it will definitly help trainees to get to a quick start. I wonder if they are available, where would they be.?
