Why InstructQt never mentioned? https://red.ht/ts-1i Is fun tho

Jump to solution

So, I come across the discussion in Red Hat Sub Reddit, and come on a very interesting reply from one of RHCE member there, and he mentioned about https://red.ht/ts-1i and https://github.com/rhel-labs/instruqt/tree/master/rhel-ts1 ? (source: https://www.reddit.com/r/redhat/comments/16237j6/recreating_the_lab_environments/)

Why this never mentioned by Red Hat Academy? I already retire as academy instructor, but I think if this is available for academy, and there are preset tools and grading that can be pulled, it will be reducing the need of Instructors in the academy to made in house grading script (In my institution, last time I wrote one myself, because I need to take some grading for my students that attend my class, and submit it into the department in end of semester).

Is it possible to map this to RHA portal, or at least a way to write this kind of script and deploy and take a grade from it and report it as student card in the RHA (in future)?

I just saying, as I have retire from the RHA (but other instructor in my institution haven't), and I think this will help them to keep student in check with homework, assignment, and a big exam. Anyway, maybe my idea is dumb, but I think this is worth considering.

Just mentioning some Red Hat Champion here

@benlimanto

I can't speak to regions other than North America:

For instructors, there is no reason to recreate the lab environment.

The lab images are already available to anyone with an instructor account at the Red Hat Academy Learning Portal (RHALP):

Access Resources -> Lab Images -> Download Lab Images

I run RH124, RH134, RH294 as virtual machines using VMware Workstation on Windows 10.

Since the lab environments are available to instructors, and not to students, I have assumed that these images may not be given to the students.
