Dear Red Hat/All,
I have couple of exams that are in my cart but not booked in an exam slot. But, I have RHLS that is going to expire in next 30 days (example) . So do I need to finish exams before RHLS expires?
OR is it possible to choose/book a exam slot after my RHLS expire date ?
This year 2020, we lost almost 6 months test window. Test Centers were closed, reserved test were cancelled. Would candiate be allowed to take tests after subscription is due.
All RHLS Exam enrollments that originally expired between March 31, 2020 and December 31, 2020 were automatically extended by 180 days in the Exam Scheduler. Please enroll in your exam(s) to view this extension if you meet this extension criteria.
I got email confirmation my exams are extended, I enrolled on exam EX288v4.5 before the subscription was due, but couldn't schedule the exam EX288v4.5 because release date for us to sign is Nov.9, 2020. Now when I log on the RHLS, everything is grayed out. How can I schedule my exam?
If you were not enrolled in the exam when the job run your exams were not extended. I've even created a ticket for this and support said that the exams will be extended when you are close to subscription end date.
However, I have only 7 days until the subscription ends and the exams were not extended. I've lost only about 4,5 months not 6 and still I was affected, I think the impact is bigger when exam centers in your area are closed for 6 months. This also adds to the dificulty of scheduling the exams as of lately the available spots are disapearing like mist.
I will reopen the ticket however I posted this just to confirm the issue.
But for a company which stands by the principles of open source "close to the end date" is not very transparent and not very clear.
Extending exams validity was really helpful and I know I was very happy about this.
Later edit: Support team extended my exams today and I scheduled them.
@BogdanB For a few months, we were extending enrollments on a week by week basis. There may have been a slight delay in seeing the extension, but at no time should the approach been "close to the subscription end date". If you would like to share with me those communications off-board, I'd be happy to look into the context in which that was explained.
Currently, the way this works, is that an extension will be provided as soon as you enroll in an exam if you meet the criteria: RHLS Expires before January 1, 2021. I do want to be clear though, about what this means. Only Exam enrollments are extended, and NOT all RHLS Exams by default. Users must enroll in their exams in order to receive the extension. Exams do not need to be scheduled, only enrolled. Simply clicking the "Enroll" button in RHLS will activate the extension. If for any reason you are not seeing an extension and you should have received one, please send a ticket. If you have already sent a ticket and have not received the extension, please reach back out, and even include me on the ticket if need be to assist.
One last point, please note that there are many Remote Exams available, and more continue to be available as the Certification team completes their development. I encourage you to look for the "Remote Available" indicator in your subscription, as a way to know that the Exam is available remote, and you do not need to rely on traveling to an exam center.
