Continuing RHSA I Labs Directly on RHEL VM

Hi Red Hat Community,

I have RHEL installed in VMware and want to continue my Red Hat System Administration I (RHSA I) course using this VM.

My goal is to:

i). Perform the labs directly on the RHEL VM

ii). Ensure that lab progress is tracked and graded by Red Hat

What’s the recommended way to connect my RHEL VM to the course lab environment so that I can complete labs and have them automatically tracked? Are there specific settings or configurations required?

Hi,

If I understand correctly, you want to use a RHEL VM in your VMware infrastructure for the RHCSA training labs, is that right? In that case, I don’t see why Red Hat would have any involvement here. Many people use RHEL VMs under Vagrant, for example, which is more convenient since most labs are configured in CLI mode. With Vagrant VMs, you can delete and recreate them whenever you want. Please note that labs run on personal equipment are not tracked or graded by Red Hat. To have your labs counted and graded, you absolutely must take the RHCSA course in the environment provided by Red Hat — that’s obvious, in my opinion.
