Prepping for RHCE after passing RHCSA

I've been studying for RHCSA for about the last four months and passed the exam yesterday on the first attempt with a 229. I am wanting to move on to the RHCE next. I am going to lean heavily on RH294 to prep for it and supplement with a few other resources. Is it reasonable to think that I could be exam ready in 6-8 weeks if I put the time in for some serious study?

The reason I am trying to complete it soon is that I have the RHLS just through January and am trying to maximize the exams I attempt in that time period. Any help from those who have been there would be awesome!

I tell my sysadmins to study / take the course then take the exam. That way you get the chance to see what is on the exam and you can see where you fall short. Schedule a retest two weeks out and just focus on what you had issues with. Then you'll be more zeroed in with what you need to work on.

So the RH294 is an excellent course covering AAP 2.2 and the content needed for taking and passing the exam. However, unlike most administration courses and exams, we are teaching you the basics and exposing you to multiple Ansible modules and how to use those modules in various tasks to accomplish specific outcomes.

I do believe that 6-8 weeks is a doable timeframe, but I would highly suggest becoming very familiar with the various Ansible modules and how to use those in playbooks. I would also suggest getting somewhat creative and authoring some playbooks of your own to perform specific tasks.

The thing to keep in mind about an exam like the EX294 is that there are multiple methods to perform a task and automate something in Ansible and it can be easy to go down rabbit holes. So as much as content mastery is needed for successfully completing and passing the exam, time management is key.

I've included some content from where I've delivered Ansible courses in the past with several example playbooks. I will be updating the RH294 here with some additional examples to better align with the RHEL 9.x and AAP 2.x course content, but the basics remain the same.

Congratulations, I am the same as you passed the RHCSA almost a month ago on the 14th of July, and preparing for RHCE, But I don't have the same enthusiasm as RHCSA, Next January will be the end of my RHLS too, Wish you the best.
