The Red Hat Training and Certification team released the latest version of the Red Hat Learning Subscription (RHLS) on November 7, 2019. This change affects all tiers of RHLS available - standard, basic, developer, enterprise, and the free trial. This major release provides an improved learning experience for users, and creates a foundation for consistent, iterative improvements for learners and enterprises. The Red Hat Learning Subscription is a premiere way to train and grow a career with Red Hat technologies.

New Features

• Expert chat - Standard users can now chat directly with content support experts in real time, in order to solve challenges with course and lab materials. 
• Catalog filters - Search functionality combined with new filters, allow you to target the right content for your learning journey. 
• My progress - You can quickly resume the course and version you have in progress, directly from your home page. The most recent courses will be at the top so you do not need to search the catalog each time you want to resume your training.
• My learning paths - You can view the progress of your enrolled learning paths directly from your home page. Expanding the learning path will give you a view into where you are in the journey, as well as give quick access to resume any course. 
• Featured updates - The latest updates to the learning subscription will be posted to the learner's homepage. New courses, features, programs, content, and subscription updates will be positioned front and center for all returning subscribers. 

Improvements

• Single page application - The learning subscription is now a single page application, bringing instant access to course content. You will be able to toggle between courses with ease and efficiency. 
• Reports - All users will have access to see a report on their course consumption, and lab usage. In addition, standard users will be able to see the status of their exams. 
• Exams - Exams are available to be scheduled by standard subscribers. You can see exams in the flow of the learning paths, and viewing the exam will reveal all of its details. If you have available exams vouchers, you can link to the exam scheduler to set up a date and time for your exam, as well as see your exam’s status.
• Learning Paths - All learning subscription users will now have access to learning paths. Learning paths provide a roadmap of courses and exams that lead towards Red Hat Certification. Standard and developer subscribers will be able to schedule exams, while basic subscribers will not. 
• Search - Users can search within the course catalog, the learning paths catalog, or within Online Learning course content, all selectable from the search bar.

There are known issues that are being actively worked on and fixes will be coming soon. 

• Spanish translations for VC courses - Not currently playing when switched from English
• Lab hour reporting- Hours are shown in the report and on the home page, but they are not 100% accurate at this time.

Red Hat Learning Subscription Release - 10/2/20

Additions

• Skills Paths are now on RHLS! Previously called Learning Paths, the new Skills Paths focus on building usable attributes that will help professionals accomplish mission critical tasks.
  
• A "How to Use your labs" tutorial video was added to the Lab Environment tab in all courses. This video outlines how students should be using the lab environment, as well as tips and tricks for navigating the lab controls.
  
• Czech translation added to RH124v8.0 for Video Classroom. 
  

Fixes

• Resolved "Project ID" and "Project Name" information for OCP labs in the "Lab information" section. This data is used by Operations and Support to assist users with their labs.

Red Hat Learning Subscription Release - 11/11/20

Additions

• The new Support form is now available! RHLS now includes a more streamlined way for users to request support. By clicking the Support button available on the top of all pages of the subscription, users will now be presented with a web form directly in the product. This form provides a way for users to focus on describing their issues, while automatically sending subscription details. Subscribers will still have access to the Customer Portal where support tickets can continue to be submitted, but this new ticketing process removes a series of additional steps as well as ensures correct routing. Please note that tickets will continue to be monitored and addressed from the Customer Portal.
  
• Confirmation window was added to the "Delete" and "Stop" functions on all labs. In order to help prevent users from accidentally deleting or stopping their labs, we have added a modal that asks users for confirmation of the action.
  
• DO328: Building Resilient Microservices with Istio and Red Hat OpenShift Service Mesh is now available in video classroom format. This VC, presented by Red Hat Instructor Varad Gupta, contains 13 hours of video content.

• Changing the course version is now downloading the correct Course Student Guide eBook.

Red Hat Learning Subscription Release - 12/3/20

Additions

• Expert Chat Translations are now live!! 
  We've enabled machine translations inside the Expert chat feature, so now users can chat with our course experts in their native language. This feature opens up the ability to utilize the chat by many of our users globally, who prefer to communicate in their local languages. 

  To converse in your local language, simply open a chat and begin typing -- the software will take care of translating. Please note that translation results may vary.

  
  
• New banners are updated on the Home Page. Help our curriculum team make our online courses better by filling out a quick survey.

Red Hat Learning Subscription Release - January 12, 2021

Additions

• New Hero Banner includes an invitation to the CL260 Early Access live feedback session. 
  
• We are providing additional extensions for RHLS Certification exams. If your RHLS expires on or before March 31, 2021, you will receive a 90 day extension on your exam when you Enroll. Users must Enroll to receive the extension. Users who meet this new criteria and previously enrolled have had their exams automatically extended. If you see any issues with your extension, please submit a support ticket and the support team will assist you. 
• Downloading the Student Guide pdf will now prompt users to accept our Terms and Conditions. 
  
• Early Access courses are now added to the Developer subscription.

• Exported report is now correctly identifying "Retake" exams as "True", and original attempts as "False".

Additions

• The Video Classroom Player has been updated to a new look, with a lot of benefits!
  • Reformatted table-of-contents with total chapter time
  • Adjustable font sizes for captions and transcripts
  • 'Next video' button 
  • Video player responsiveness in theater mode, allowing users to scale their video to a custom size.
    
• Updated Offering Cards for all subscriptions. All cards have an updated design that is more responsive, and includes action-based links for accessing their content.

• RHLS Premium - Scheduled sessions remain on a user's Home Page until the session has completed
• Resolved course progress table on Management Reporting Dashboard
• Management Reporting date range now defaults to "All Time". Previously this defaulted to the 365 days prior to the date reports were ran. 
• Lab Auto-Stop timer fix - When a user resets an individual virtual machine, the auto-stop timer is no longer resetting back to 1 hour

Red Hat Learning Subscription Release - April 26, 2021

Additions

• RHLS Premium: 
  • Premium Sessions appear in the User Dashboard, and can be filtered by "Attended" or "Scheduled". 
    
    
  • Completed Sessions will offer users a Survey. 
    
    
  • Live Session pages will include a Resourdes tab. This tab will include all the relevant materials and links for users, including a link to the FAQ, eBook download, and access to ROL and VC courses.
    
    
  • Users can select their preferred time zone in their preferences, and this will control the time format in the scheduling/cancelling emails the student receives.
  • Premium Instructors' details are now accessible on RHLC via a direct link on the instructor name in RHLS. 
    
    
• RHLS Exam Extension of 90 days has been applied to all enrollments for subscriptions that expired between Jan 1, 2021 and May 31, 2021. 
• RHLS Exam "Enroll" button applies the latest extension if the user meets the extension criteria

Red Hat Learning Subscription Release - May 18, 2021

Additions

• Technical Chat support is now available to all RHLS subscribers. A chat bot will be presented to the user based on their subscription tier, and offer the various levels of support entitled to that tier. This chat support is still offered during the same times as our Expert Chat support period. Users will have access to our Support Form during chat off hours.
  

Fixes

• Premium Session survey does not include a mandatory text field. Users who failed to fill out the text field previously received an error when attempting to fill out their survey. This has been resolved. 
• Exam Cancellation defect has been resolved, where users clicked "Cancel" twice before the first message was properly sent to the Exam Scheduler, causing a failure of cancellation.
• Course Certificate of Completion now prompts for the user's Preferred Name, when completing Video Classroom courses.  Previously, the Certificate would automatically include the username.
