Open source licensing encourages innovation through collaboration. Without it, many of the technologies we take for granted today would never have developed, or would be locked away behind patent law. The open source movement is the reason that technology has developed at such a breakneck pace for the past few decades.

I am using the resources from RedHat portal and Udemy courses to learn about open source technology. LinkedIn community also helping with some references. In addition to that, I am going through Open shift trainings now.

Thorough research, test the technology in your lab/dev/staging environments, adopt shift left when it comes to security and most importantly share experience with the community after using/adopting open source technology.

It all depends what type of services or solutions you want to understand better and provide to a third-party person, company or customer/client. There are a lot of resources, communities, documentations, events, tooling, etc., that you could use to up-skill on OpenSource. Start by first identifying what is it that you want to accomplish and how, then go to the appropriate channel/community to find out more about a specified solution/technology and what are the changes you need to do to comply with the sum of the necessity + what the solution offers.

Be responsible for training.
Seek experts in the communities for new ideas on how to do it and what to use
Seek not only to be a consumer of open source but also to offer comments.
