Do I need to memorize certain configuration files during the OCP exam?

Jump to solution

Hello, during the OCP exam we make configurations in many domains. Do we need to configure these files entirely from memory? I think at least an empty config could be provided, but maybe I’m wrong and I’m trying to figure out the correct approach. I’d really appreciate it if you could clarify this for me.

Regards

@bsenguler All I can say without violating the NDA is that official documentation of relevant sections are provided and it is not possible to divulge the information about what is provided in the exam and what is not for the config part.

Whatever is necessary for an admin or developer to do the task is provided and where it is expected out of examinee - he/she needs to figure it out.

The recommended course is your friend / philosopher /guide here - practice the course labs well and understand what and how much configuration you have to do on your own and where you can take the help of documentation or OCP web UI.

Maybe you should familiarize yourself with section 5 of the man pages...

Thank you for the response. Actually, my question wasn’t about RHEL, that’s my fault for not specifying. My question is about OpenShift. For example, I need to specify special parameters both for OpenShift image registry settings and for secrets, and moreover, these S3 parameters have different names for logging and separate names for OADP. In daily operations, I do this by referring to documentation, but during the exam it feels like we are being directed to do these entirely from memory. If there is a place where we can access these parameters during the exam, that would be great.
