Hi @Yousuf ,

Did you look in the scheduler tool (where you initially scheduled your Remote Exam)?

Cheers,

Hi,

this is my first redhat exam (EX280) and I'm trying to schedule it asap.

I've bought camera, took notebook especially for the exam as soon as my working laptop is not eligible to start from external drives due to security policies, I've uploaded my goverment issued local ID with photo on Friday and still didn't get an approval. I think I'm half way to the exam and can't predict if the process should finish by the end of September to give me the chance to access EX280 before it's withdrawal.

Do you consider new applicants to pass exams? If yes, could you please help?

thank you

Hello,

Pre-approval of ID verification shouldn't take such a long time as weeks. Can you please log a ticket at https://rhtapps.redhat.com/comments/ so that the team can check the details and revert to you?

Best Regards,

Shefeeq

Hi @Yousuf ,

Internet speed tests available on the internet choose the nearest server to test bandwidth and hence realtime results can be quite different. The download/upload test of our compatibility test looks at the speed to access Red Hat servers and hence it will be different based on distance, time of testing, etc.

Please try conducting a few more iterations of this test at different times of the day to see if the failure is consistent.

Let's assume that the Internet connection is down for a long time during the exam.

Is the exam then considered "Failed" ?

How long do I have time to continue with the exam or can I start again one day later?

Hi @DirkSeifert ,

I will quote an earlier comment by my colleague around this:

I think we have to keep in mind that there can not be a rule for every type of incidents and covering every problem which can occur, especially on the candidate side.

By choosing the Remote Exams option, as candidates, we are somehow responsible for our setup. That means that we can't expect Red Hat to have a solution or cover for each type of problems related to our setup.

All of the Red Hat certification exams I attempted, either on the "kiosk" environment in a training center, or on this Remote Exam environment were rather difficult and the time limited. I'm trying to avoid any disappointement on the side of anyone who is not able to have a confortable setup as per the requirements (alone in a room, stable network connection, etc..):

https://learn.redhat.com/t5/Certification-Resources/Getting-Ready-for-your-Red-Hat-Remote-Exam/ba-p/...

I think that would indicate that the candidate was not ready...And probably there should be a better method of exam delivery, for example the one in training centers, using the Kiosk computer.

Also, to be answering we would have to define the type of network interruption. Short ones, like a few seconds, minutes, are usually covered by the Remote Exam Live environment, which is displaying a "Network interruption" screen and is able to automatically reconnect when the situation is fixed. That happened to me once during an exam, after a few seconds interruptions it went back. For longer interruption, the proctor will see and make a decision based on all the elements at the time of the incident.

Again, I want to reiterate that "Getting Ready" requires the candidates to meet with the requirements.
