Hi @Linuxas08 ,

Please try to rerun the compatibility test after increasing the mic volume. You can do this in the setting menu right after booting to the remote exam image.

Boot to the RE image, go to settings -> sound -> select the input device - Choose the correct mic input
After selecting the mic, increase the volume all the way up again and then switch to any other option in settings (like Network) and then come back to Sound. Then try to make some noise and see if the microphone level indicator is moving accordingly. If there are multiple options in the input source, please do this for one mic name after the other, follow the above steps and run the compatibility test. See if one of them passes the test.
Please reach out to the support team if you still have issues.

Hi All,  My apologies for posting this in the thread.

I took my EX280 remote exam for OpenShifyt 4.2 version on Oct 1st and cleared my exam and I had a discrepancy in the OpenShift Version which was printed on the certificate. I opened the case using the link "https://www.redhat.com/rhtapps/certification/comments/" and till today I didn't get my corrected certificate. I'm following up every 10 days once and each time they are giving different reasons and the last reason was "Waiting for management approval to do backend update" which was 21st October. Now it's more than a month.

My request number - RHT1277573

Looking forward for some assistance.

Thank You

Sakthi

Hi @Sakthiraam ,

I see that this request is with a separate team and they have responded to you today with an update on when this will be resolved. I request you to continue following up on that email from support so that they are directly notified. Apologies for the long wait, but it appears multiple users are affected with the same issue and I gather that there is work being done on this front so that all impacted certificates can be corrected.

Best Regards,

Is external camera mandatory? I have only integrated camera to laptop
If I have to buy external webcam, are there specific requirements for quality or resolution, or which model should I buying.

Hi @mahussain ,

An external web camera is a mandatory requirement for the remote exam. I would look for web cameras with at least one-meter cable length (to make it easier to pan the camera around the room) and which can focus on text at close lengths (for ID verification).

Red Hat does not have a recommended devices list (yet) but this thread where users have shared their experiences might help - https://learn.redhat.com/t5/General/RedHat-Remote-Exam-supported-hardware-cameras-mice-keyboards/m-p...

My personal laptop has only one port and therefore I intend to use my office laptop. My remote exams is scheduled for Dec. 2 and I intend to run the compatibility test the day before. If while running the compatibility test I run into firewall issues, will Redhat allow me to use a different laptop to run the compatibility test same day rather than cancelling my scheduled exams?

Thanks

EfuaP

Hi @EfuaP ,

I do not see any issues/restrictions for switching devices before your exam and you can run the compatibility tests on any number of devices, any number of times. However, I would ask you to run the tests much in advance and contact/inform support of any issues.

Sounds like you need another laptop for the exam.
