Hi All,

My laptop hardware model is MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports, 8GB RAM).  I have tried to check remote exam environment using RHRE-20210309 & RHRE-20200630 but in both case I have found below issue -

• Not able to connect to wifi network though correct password is given and laptop is close to wifi router
• In the input device section, see two options - Microphone - Built-in Audio & Internal Microphone - Built-in Audio. In both cases the microphone is not sensing anything from the environment and the microphone slider is in disable status.
• Not able to hear anything using an internal microphone / external microphone.

I can see pictures from both internal and external web cameras. 

Now questions are -

• Is there any exam environment/ISO that can be checked in the said laptop hardware so that wifi connection can work?
• Is microphone mandatory for the exam? 
• How to resolve wifi connection issue?

Hi Arif!

It is recommended that you used a wired connection during the exam. As for the microphone, it is needed in order for the proctor to monitor the environment while you take the test.

Hi I have created the bootable USB and was able to boot my lenovo thinkpad with that. But it get stuck at envirotment loading step for long time. I can see at right corner 100% is marked but no movement after that even if waiting for more than 30 mins.

But yes, you may use the older image for your exam.

Hi @Deanna , during remote exam are we allowed to use single monitor which has 21:9 parameters? The Linux will be able to dispaly this to the edges? Thank You very much. Another question is, I have heard that during exams there is a huge delay, for Europe systems are US based and that is the reason? Thank You very much in advance.

At very high resolutions, the exam screen may appear very small. I found full HD 1920x1080 has the best resolution.
With that said, a colleague recently took the exam on a 27", 21:9 2560x1440 screen and had no problems. So, do test it out.

The exam systems are provisioned to the closest data center depending on the timezone selected by the candidate. As long as you have a decent internet connection that does not restrict connections to our servers, you should have no problems with your exam.

1. I have three monitors that are mounted on an arm. Can I just unplug all but one and show the exam proctor? If not what do I need to do?
2. I am working my way through the exam prep pdf, found here: tr-remote-exams-preparation-ebook-f27382-202103-en.pdf
   1. It shows the how to check the integrity of the image by running: Windows cmd:
      C:\Users\user>Certutil -hashfile C:\Users\user\Downloads\rhrexboot.iso MD5
      1. The result on the pdf shows: The MD5 checksum for the Live USB Image is: 585cb364da1ae2fae94e22e07913316e.
   2. I recieve a valid checksum but not the same result as above. Has anyone else ran into this issue? Am i doing someting wrong? Any help is appreciated.

Yes, you can unplug the monitors (and cover them with a cloth if possible). Your exam proctor will verify they are connecting before proceeding with the exam.

The correct checksum should be 0dd72ac558fc1afbf0c0e1fa4b366f10 . I have alerted the team to update the pdf.

I've downloaded the ISO several times and on different computers, but the MD5 differs from the one provided in the PDF. Which one is the correct one?
