I use a bigger 2nd monitor and kept my laptop lid closed. So that I can
keep a browser window open on left, 2x consoles in right stacked.. no more
switching.
If you are using a small screen it will be difficult.

Yes, sometimes the desktop graphics is super slow !!!

I also use 2nd monitor, but the Remote Exam (VNC screen) is half of the monitor. Do you have the same problem? or how do you solve it?
thanks

Oh okay. Nope I never had that issue before. (Already done 4-5 remote
exams) I always get a full desktop screen on 2nd screen.

I think some of the moderators can advise on that “small screen”
technical issue

Thank you Gineesh for the tip, split screen is something I can try next time :)

I have a big 30 inch 4k Dell screen so I should have enough space. Although, I must say, there is a lot of wasted space. For me the exam window takes maybe 50-60% of the screen it's very wide so it doesn't utilize the lower portion of the screen, the rest is just some background color, and in the bottom right corner is the chat button to communicate with the Proctor.

Now I wonder if I can change the resolution of the exam window, that might be quite useful.

Hi lunarprospector,
Oh understood. I think the ISO exam is coming with some limited screen
resolutions (I guess so) but I didn't find any issue with my 27" Dell
screen.

Wait for moderators to advise anyway :)

In the network setting, my wifi is detected and it shows connected, but the exam environment keeps says "Network does not appears to be configured".

And I also tried the wire connection, it shows Connected - 100 Mb/s under Wired tab in Network page, but I still get "Network does not appears to be configured".

Please advise how to resolve this.

Hi,

I do have access to the internet locally.
The same wifi I use everyday. And I also confirmed the wired connection
worked fine with the laptop in Windows before booting from USB.

Cheers,

Hi @MollyC ,

The remote exam environment attempts to connect/ping to 'https://rhie-poa.redhat.com', to determine internet connectivity. This is the application interface where you are connected to the exam proctor.

The "Network does not appears to be configured" error is displayed when there is no response to the above URL.
Please check if your ISP or firewall has restrictions to access this URL.

Edit: It appears this system is offline for maintenance. Please try again in a few hours and it should connect to the compatibility test page.

Regards,

Thanks for looking into this.

Is  'https://rhie-poa.redhat.com' still offline for maintenance?

I tried the older USB image, network is fine but sound test fails in compatibility test. I rebooted several times to adjust the the volume of speaker and microphone, but can't get it work.
